OLAG Graduates, Antoinette Dadzie and Jude Kweifei-Okai, Excel at Kansas State University.
Antoinette Dadzie
Antoinette completed her sophomore year of undergraduate study in Biology (Pre-Med) this past May at Kansas State University. She arrived on campus in August 2024 after finishing high school at OLAG in Mamponteng, Ghana, with the goal of becoming a pediatrician. After two years of university studies, she now has a strong interest in pursuing pediatric surgery and is being recognized for her efforts in the classroom by being named the biology department’s “Most Promising Biology Student.”
At Kansas State, Antoinette can be found participating in research, spearheading her duties on the Homecoming Committee, singing in the choir at St. Isidore’s Catholic Student Center, and fulfilling her obligations as Social Chair for the African Students Union. She is busy with extracurriculars and very committed to her studies; a balance she firmly believes her OLAG education prepared her for.
She is proud to credit aspects of her positive attitude and willingness to ask questions to her OLAG experience. Antoinette recognizes, “I am not afraid to admit when I do not know something because asking questions helps me learn and grow […] My time at OLAG helped me develop these qualities by teaching me how to manage a busy schedule, prioritize what is important, and make time for both work and rest. It also showed me the importance of building relationships with professors and mentors.”
Late this spring, Antoinette conducted research alongside a PhD. candidate, studying how harmful gut bacteria sticks to intestinal cells and causes inflammation. She explained that they are testing a peptide that blocks the attachment with potential to help reduce inflammation and possibly lower colorectal cancer risk. She remarked that she is, “learning so much from them to be able to build my own research soon!”. For the remainder of the summer, she and Jude will work at Trinity Woods Extreme Faith Camp in Trego, Wisconsin before going back to K-State in August.

Jude Kweifio-Okai
Jude is a rising junior at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS where he is majoring in Finance and earning a certificate in International Business. His interest in business was inspired by focusing his high school studies in business at OLAG. He has aspirations to work in finance after completing his undergraduate degree and hopes to be working in international business to travel and experience new cultures.
As a former class prefect at OLAG, Jude is a confident leader. He attributes his confidence in leadership roles to his prefect experiences at OLAG, where he says he was challenged with the role of being a peer leader and model student. Jude says this prepared him for college in many ways, and especially prepared him for extracurricular involvement and classroom leadership. After being a committed member of the Multicultural Business Student Association for two years, he has been named the club’s Outreach Chair. Jude is excited about the opportunity to further expand his scope of leadership and to connect with members of the business community for the betterment of his, and his classmates’. education.
As a K-State student, Jude is also involved at the Catholic Student Center and enjoys cooking and baking for his friends. He says that he can explore all these interests in college because “OLAG makes you aware of time and teaches you to be independent.” Not only does he say OLAG prepared him to make time for all of his interests, but also to work hard at all of these things and do so with all kinds of people. Jude reminisced on his experience as a prefect in a boarding school and shared that exposure to different people in living situations, extracurriculars, and in the classroom prepared him well for his college education. He is excited to return to Trinity Woods Extreme Faith Camp in Trego, Wisconsin before starting his junior year in August.
