Four incredible OLAG students made their first visit to the United States in June as scholarship recipients for the Notre Dame Summer Scholars program. Before and after their time on campus at Notre Dame, Blessing Wenawume Aduko, John Elliot Sena Koffe, Francess-Marie Gyasiwaa Sarsah, and Cecil Tuglo spent time in Minnesota as Rise & Shine guests.
These high-achieving students aspire to careers as neuro surgeons, scientists, and the study of international law. Their two week experience at Notre Dame allowed them to take challenging college-level courses taught by Notre Dame faculty.
While in Minneapolis, they were welcomed by host families Katie and Matt Foley and Liz and Joe Neuberger. They played mini-golf, explored Mall of America and museums, while enjoying Starbucks, burgers, and other American cuisine. They made many connections with many members of the Rise & Shine and Our Lady of Grace communities. According to OLAG, “this experience stands as a beacon of what is possible when faith, education, and global collaboration intersect. OLAG is proud of her ambassadors and remains committed to molding confident, morally upright, and globally minded individuals - living true to our cherished motto: ‘Knowledge, Morality, Service.’”
