OLAG Alumna, Frederica Aboagye, Returning to Microsoft Internship for Summer 2026

“OLAG taught me to take opportunities seriously, to explore new possibilities, and not be afraid to step into unfamiliar spaces.”

Frederica (Rica) Aboagye graduated from Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG) in 2022 with aspirations to pursue a career in STEM. After her graduation, she moved to the United States to study Computer Science and Mathematical Economics at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. She has a strong interest in software engineering, applied AI, and technology for social impact. At Pitzer, Rica is active in her campus community, serving as the Liaison for the Inside Student Representative within the Pitzer College Student Senate and as the Vice President of Pitzer Connect, a student-led group committed to building an inclusive technical community on campus.

Rica’s work ethic, confidence, and passion landed her an internship at Microsoft during the summer of 2025 and she will return this upcoming summer as a Software Engineering Intern. She is proud of the skills and traits she acquired as an OLAG student and credits those skills as being critical to her collegiate and professional success: “OLAG really emphasized leadership and encouraged students to see themselves as capable of making an impact. That helped me build my confidence.” Rica carries a deeply instilled confidence that guided her in embracing OLAG’s emphasis on venturing into new spaces. She noted, “OLAG taught me to take opportunities seriously, to explore new possibilities, and not be afraid to step into unfamiliar spaces.”

Highlights from Rica’s summer 2025 internship include learning from talented people and seeing how large-scaled technology is developed. She is excited for her return to Seattle to continue learning, taking on new challenges, and growing as a student and professional. Rica’s Microsoft internship and exemplary extracurricular experiences are rooted in the confidence, leadership, and communication skills built at OLAG and continues to blossom with these new experiences and will be critical for her career development in the ever-changing technological landscape.
